Covens are close groups of Witches & Pagans, who gather at

the special times of the year to celebrate the changing of the year as

well as to offer prayers to our deities. There are many reports of

covens being naked, & involving themselves within sexual activities,

this is a concept taken out of all context. Covens are close knit, like

a close family, being naked, or as we prefer to call it 'Skyclad' is a

perfectly natural state for followers of a nature based religion to be

in. It must be stressed that not all Witches & Pagans worship naked ,

especially in these cold lands in winter!. Being naked in a wood, is

no different to being naked on a beach, or in a jacuzzi etc with close

friends, we come together in "perfect Love & perfect trust", that is,

to be a member of a coven is to trust the people around you.

Whenever an outsider comes to celebrate with that coven, then they

are all robed, no outsider ever celebrates skyclad with another coven

unless he or she is well known to them. On the extremely rare

occasion when children are present, which is almost never unless it

is a Wiccaning, Handfasting etc, then everi covens that normally

celebrate skyclad will of course be robed!

Psychologists have

noted, that the state of total nakedness is not erotic in any way shape

or form, that a total state of undress actually has the reverse effect!

Sexual activity within rituals is also very very rare indeed,

though is

unheard of between consenting already sexual couples

who are often married, or are an already established sexual partners

As Pagan beliefs such as Wicca are a nature based fertility ritual, it

is perfectly reasonable, in private( & I must stress IN PRIVATE),

for couples, to offer the sexual energy of their lovemaking to their

God & Goddess. To Witches & Pagans the act of lovemaking, or

the Great Rite is the greatest of all rites to be partook in only with

sexual partners, it is never, ever performed in front of others!

Witches do cast spells. This is not what it seems, a spell is

merely another name for a prayer, & is always done for beneficial

ends such as healing, whether it be the healing of a person, an

animal or the Earth itself, which in this day & age, certainly needs

to be let known that it is loved, & cared for.
